Family Medicine in the Netherlands has developed a well-established and highly valued program for quality management, both in patient care and in professional specialty training for general practice. If you want to learn the essentials you need to know about the development and assessment of high quality health care in general practice and the training of competent primary care doctors, then this may be a course for you.

During the first week principles of teaching and training, aspects of student assessment and quality assurance within educational organizations will be discussed.  The second week will focus on different aspects of quality assessment and innovation in primary health care: the impact of professional guidelines, quality management programs and e-health.
The summercourse is in Utrecht. Apart from the course there are other reasons to hang around and explore this charming city with tree-lined canals, a medieval quarter & abundant hip, fun bars and cafes.

COURSE AIM: The aim of the course is to make primary care physicians (and trainees) familiar with the basic issues related to development of high quality primary health care.

TARGET GROUP: International audience of primary care physicians (general practitioners, family physicians) and trainees in general practice with sufficient proficiency in English reading and writing.

STUDY LOAD: Two full weeks of daily lectures, workshops and group assignments, including an excursion to a primary care practice in Utrecht (3.0 ECTS credits).
